Since becoming a finalist in the National Music Competition for Youth at 14, Norwegian pianist John Christian Lee has performed across Norway, Sweden, the U.S. and the U.K as a solo- and chamber musician.
He began learning the piano with Kirsten Harmens, and later had lessons with Helge Kjekshus and Jiri Hlinka. He went on to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Heather Slade-Lipkin and Sinae Lee, from which he graduated first class and as a two-time recipient of the Euing Prize. Further studies were with Victor Sangiorgio and Mark Bebbington in Birmingham, where he was also afforded the opportunity to work with Peter Donohoe.
A devoted teacher, John Christian’s pupils perform regularly in competitions, masterclasses and in concerts. He is also a visiting teacher of piano at King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys.
